Mango Rice Porridge For Little Ones

Mango, king of fruits is a seasonal fruit. Mangoes are not just juicy and tasty but they are a good source of nutrients. Mangoes are good in Vitamin C, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin A and also contains minerals like Potassium and Magnesium. Mangoes are good in Dietary Fibre and Digestive Enzymes which can help babies with digestion, constipation, and acidity.

Mango contains Phytic Acid, so before consuming soak them for 30 - 45 minutes in water to reduce the impact of Phytic Acid. Soaking will also remove unwanted chemicals on the skin.

Mangoes are tasty and juicy and it can go well in various baby food recipes. One simple recipe for 8+ months is, Mango & Rice Porridge.

Try prepare below Mango & Rice Porridge recipe,

Ingredients:
> 1 Ripe Mango
> 2 tablespoons Rice
> A pinch of dry ginger powder
> Water

Preparing Method:
> Rinse the rice in water thoroughly and soak it for a while.
> Clean and wash mango thoroughly and soak it in water for at least 45 minutes.
> In a pot, combine rinsed rice and water and allow it to simmer for 15-20 minutes on a medium low flame untill it is cooked well and become soft.
> Till the time rice is cooking, take washed mango and peel off the skin and cut it into pieces.
> Once the rice is cooked, switch off the flame and strain out the excess water and transfer it to a bowl. Allow it cool down slightly.
> Take a blender, add mango pieces and cooked rice in it. Now blend it to get a soft semi-solid like consistency.
> Transfer it and serve your little one this delicious mango rice porridge.

 

NOTE -
Before introducing new food, consult your pediatrician. If introducing mango for the first time, check for allergies. Suitable time is before morning or noon time.
